The botanical garden names of the year have been chosen by the Botanical Gardens of Ontario (BGTO), an organization of botanical societies and garden clubs.
The top three names are:Baldwin Hill, one of Ontario’s most visited botanical Gardens, won the honour of the first place award in the new “Garden of Names” program, which aims to inspire the next generation of gardeners to pursue their passion for nature.
The garden’s main entry, located on the banks of the Fraser River, features the gardens main exhibit, a 1,000-square-metre greenhouses, as well as its famous ‘Biggest House’ and ‘Bigger House’ exhibit, which features giant sculptures of plants that are taller than the average human.
The Biggest House, which is on the opposite side of the river from the garden, includes a 1.5-metres tall greenhouse and has a 10-metrel (34-foot) wide entranceway.
The other two entries are:The top two are:Sugarbush, the largest of the two garden entrances, boasts two giant statues, including the “Biggest and the Tallest,” and a sculpture of a giant cedar tree, with the inscription “One of the most magnificent trees on earth.”
The garden also has the Biggest Garden, with three giant statues of plants and a statue of a tree, while the Bigger House has six giant sculptures that are the largest in the city.
The third entry is “The Bigger and the Most Beautiful,” and features three giant sculptures on the side of a massive oak tree.
It is the third time that the winner of the “Gardens of Names program” has been announced, following the winners of the 2013 and 2015 awards.
The winners of each year’s award are selected by a panel of the society’s leaders, and the names of those winners are presented to a panel to vote for the next one.
The 2018 winner is:Tobacco, which won the first prize in 2017.
In 2018, the award was awarded to:Kamloops, where the name of the plant was chosen by a committee that included the city council.
The winners of 2017 and 2018’s winners will be announced at a ceremony on Feb. 15 in the garden’s Main Entry.
The city also announced in 2018 that it has awarded its first ever “garden of the future” award to a city park, in recognition of the fact that it is now home to a zoo.
The gardens’ garden name has been chosen as part of the city’s 2018-2019 Parks and Recreation and Parks and Open Space Plan, which was presented to city councillors on Tuesday.
